- Disaster Relief:
When a member of any of our courts experience a disaster, such as tornado, flood, hurricane, fire, etc. the local court regent should make a request with the State Regent for financial assistance.
The State board will review the submission and make awards to the person, if approved. Presently each event will be awarded $300 per event, if funding is available.
- Scholarship Fund:
Each year, students have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship and is then are selected by a committee. $1000 is awarded to two High School Seniors and $500 is awarded to two eight grade students entering a Catholic School. The checks will be awarded to the student/school selected by the student.
- CDA Kid:
Children under the age of 12 years with special needs are selected in each Diocese each year. Monetary assistance is forwarded to the chairperson in each Diocese. This is to help with medical bills, transportation, or anything that is needed when the time arises. Also prayers are offered to all CDA Kids. This project was started in 1999. National thought that this was a worthwhile project, that some states have adopted it and chooses a child on the state level. In the fall of 2009, we invited the children and parents to join in our 10 year celebration with clowns, balloons, cake, hot dogs and games for them to play and also held a memorial service remembering our deceased CDA Kids.
Each year a new child is chosen in each diocese. The regents of each local court will receive nomination forms from the State court. The local courts will submit a child to be considered for the diocesan CDA Kid. Each child will be submitted to the chairman in their diocese and then the chairman, along with her committee, will select a child. Courts are asked to support the child in any way they can, be it financially or with prayers. Remember when donating money, it is best to send the donation to the CDA Chairman. She will be versed on the child's needs. All money collected is given to the child.
